Deaconess Rebecca Smith

Deaconess Rebecca Smith 84 Evergreen, NC was born April 26, 1934; she and transitioned into eternal rest on December 28, 2018 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC. She was the wife of the late Solomon (J.W.) Smith and was the daughter of the late Elder John Henry and Mable Stephens.

She is survived by four sons: Martin Smith, Florence, SC; George (Cowboy) Smith, Lumberton, NC; Solomon Rudolph Smith (Genevie), Hope Mills, NC; Ralph Hall (Corene), Washington, DC; three lovely daughters: Charlotte Smith Hempsted (Dennis), Lumberton, NC; Camella Diane Smith, Washington, DC; Iris Smith Redhead (Charles), Washington, DC; Two brothers: John Henry Stephens, Jr. (Betty) Las Vegas, NV; William Dan Stephens (Shelia) Woodland Hills, CA; Two sisters: Sadie Williams, Baltimore, MD; Floria Thompson (Sherman) Baltimore, MD. She had eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, three godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Elder Dennis Hempsted will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Faith Mausoleum in Lumberton NC.

The family will receive friends at 3910 Kings Cross Road, Lumberton NC.
