Derrack Lamonte' Jones 52 of Jacksonville, NC; formerly of Maxton transitioned into eternal rest on January 20, 2024.
Derrack Lamonté Jones was born to the late Willie Jones and Bessie Mae Layne on December 25, 1971, in Lumberton, NC. He entered eternal rest on January 20, 2024.
Derrack attended Scotland County Public Schools and graduated from Scotland High School. He enjoyed working in the trucking industry for many years where he gained the name "Total Kaos." He drove for various companies including S&W Ready Cement and his latest being Otis Trucking. He also loved coaching basketball and spending time with family and friends. He impacted many lives as
"Coach D" with the East Coast Allstars Bobcats.
Derrack was preceded in death by his father Willie Jones, grandmother Annie Mae Nicholson and brother Edward Derrin Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of the home, Stephanie Michelle Jones of Jacksonville, NC; one son: Derrius Jones of Jacksonville, NC; two daughters:
TyRhonda Spicer of Jacksonville, NC and DéErra Jones of Monroe, Louisiana; mother: Bessie Mae Layne of Laurinburg NC; two sisters: Stacey Jones of Laurinburg, NC and MaLu Fairley-Collins of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren:
Tymerykah Spicer and Mateo Spicer both of Jacksonville, NC and Layla Jones of Monroe, Louisiana; two special brothers: Thomas Hayes of Zebulon, NC and Rashid Dean of Maxton, NC; four godchildren: Keturah Williams, Tamarius "TQ" Hardison, Jakara Washington-Naranjo, Nadia Hayes, Justin Williams; a special cousin-in-law: Shekeka "Keda" Pullins, who introduced Michelle and Derrack to each other twenty-nine years ago; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Burial will be in McLeod Cemetery in Maxton.
