Joseph Johnson 84 of New York formerly of Maxton transitioned into eternal rest on April 18, 2021.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 2:00PM from St. Matthew AME Zion Church in Maxton.

Those left to cherish his memory are two nieces; Wanda Short (Jimmy), Peggy Noldon (Ronald), three great nieces: Natalee Peoples (Raleigh), Niki Watson (Varin, Sr.), Chandra Short, one great nephew, Cristopher Johnson; a great-great niece, Kiara Peoples, three great-great nephews, Joshua Peoples, Varin Watson, Jr., and Vashawn Garrett; family friends dear to his heart, Thomas, George and Gordon Ziegler and a host of other family and friends.
